WP 7 ACTIVITIES & OUTCOMES

Task 7.1: General administration and management of the project

The University of Ruhuna, as the leading institution in the BRITAE project, attended a grant holder meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
During the kick-off meeting, the team established working procedures, reporting structures, and dispute resolution methods in accordance with EU guidelines. They provided management, administration, and coordination functions, prepared progress reports, and managed work package activities and deliverables. Meetings were held with the Centre for International Affairs, Ruhuna University staff, Erasmus+ 2019 project holders in Sri Lanka, and the chairman of the University Grants Commission. Approvals were obtained from the External Resources Department, Ministry of Higher Education, and the Central Bank.
Project updates were presented to the Vice Chancellor in every six months. When the Ambassador of the European Union visited the UoR, the project progress was presented.

Task 7.2 : Setting up steering committee/ kick-off meetings

The kick-off meeting of the BRITAE project, which marked its official launch, was attended by delegates from all nine partner universities at Hotel Turyaa in Kalutara, Sri Lanka, from February 25th to 28th, 2020. Subsequently, the project organized and conducted ten steering committee meetings to oversee its progress and management:

  • 1st Steering Committee Meeting: February 24th-28th, 2020 in Hotel Turyaa, Kalutara, Sri Lanka
  • 2nd Steering Committee Meeting: June 25th, 2020
  • 3rd Steering Committee (Online) Meeting: November 17th-18th, 2020 (Online)
  • 4th Steering Committee Meeting: March 19th, 2021 (Online)
  • 5th Steering Committee Meeting: September 17th, 2021 (Online)
  • 6th Steering Committee Meeting: March 29th, 2022
  • 7th Steering Committee Meeting: September 12th, 2022 in HUD, United Kingdom
  • 8th Steering Committee Meeting: October 18th, 2022 in TalTECH, Estonia
  • 9th Steering Committee Meeting: March 16th, 2023, Galle Face Hotel, Sri Lanka
  • 10th Steering Committee Meeting: November 8th, 2023 (Online)

Task 7.3: Compile interim and closure reports

Interim report has been compiled and submitted on 14th October 2021.
Closure report has been complied and submitted on 14th January 2024 with all relevant documents.
