As the leading university of the project under task 7.1 of WP 07, the BRITAE team of University of Ruhuna established working procedures and reporting structures and defined methods for managing and resolving disputes among institutions. In addition, they provided management time, administration, co-ordination functions and prepared progress reports while maintaining all records of expenditure while managing work package activities
and deliverables against agreed milestones.
Meetings were conducted with the Centre for International Affairs, university staff of Ruhuna, Erasmus+ 2019 projects with Sri Lankan grant holders and the chairman of the University Grants Commission. Approval forms for purchasing equipments for the SAR centre were submitted to European Commission. The kick-off meeting of the project marked the official launch of the BRITAE project and delegates from all nine partner universities attended the inaugural session held from 25th to 28th February, 2020 at Hotel Turyaa, Kalutara, Sri Lanka. The aforementioned kick- off meeting and four other consortium meetings have been organized and conducted so far, along with five steering committee meetings (28.02.2020, 25.06.2020, 18.11.2020, 19.03.2021 and 17.09.2021 respectively) to moniter the project progress and the way forward in order to fulfill task 7.2 of WP 07. The “Technical Report” is being prepared by the leading university of the BRITAE project with the support of all the other partner universities and it will be submitted to the European Commission by 15th October 2021.
